There are at least three different local airports that service Lower Manhattan and its surrounding cities.

First, there is the LaGuardia Airport (LGA) which is located just northeast of downtown New York. Take I-278 southbound into Manhattan.

Second, there is John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) which is located southeast of Manhattan.

Take highway 27 west to I-478.

Finally, there is Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) which is located on the east side of New Jersey, off Newark Bay.

Take I-78 east which will take you through the Lincoln Tunnel into Lower Manhattan.

 

 

Hudson River – Statue of Liberty

The Hudson River is about 315 miles in length.

In addition to, it runs about four miles between the east side of New Jersey and the west side of New York.

This river runs north and south between both cities.

Moreover, it’s a mixture of part fresh running water and salt water from the ocean.

Contrary to the Hudson River, there is the Hudson River Park.

Furthermore, it also runs about four miles along the Hudson River on New York’s west bank.

What is equally important, is this park usually attracts 15 million plus visitors a year.

 

Statue of Liberty

The Statue of Liberty is nestled on the Hudson River on the east side of New Jersey overlooking New York.

It can be seen from I-78 and Lower Manhattan.

The Statue of Liberty was created in 1886, and gifted from France to the United States.

It stands at about 305 feet in height.

The statue is 151 feet and the pedestal it is situated on is 154 feet.

Besides, the name Statue of Liberty is called Lady Liberty, and Liberty Enlightening the World.
